xAI Integration

Overview

xAI is an artificial intelligence company whose Grok family of large language models is built for reasoning, coding, and general-purpose conversation, with an emphasis on up-to-date knowledge and direct, helpful answers. Integrating xAI with the SkyDeck AI Platform gives your members access to the Grok models directly in their workspace.

Generating an xAI API Key

To use the xAI API, you need to generate an API key by following these simple steps:

  1. Go to the xAI Console at https://console.x.ai/ and sign in. If you don't have an account, you can sign up there.
  2. Once you have signed in, go to API Keys. You may need to set up a billing plan before you can create and use API keys.
  3. Click the Create API key button to generate a new API key. Provide a name for the key, then copy the token for later use as it will not be shown again.

All done! Once you have your API key, you can use xAI's Grok models in the SkyDeck AI Platform.

Adding the API Key to the SkyDeck AI Control Center

API Keys are added to the Control Center Integrations Screen.

  1. Login to or Create a SkyDeck AI Admin account here: https://admin.skydeck.ai/
  2. Once you have signed in, visit your integrations page here https://admin.skydeck.ai/integrations/ ↗, or select Integrations in the sidebar.
  3. In the LLM Integration page, click on the Add Integration button, choose xAI as the Integration Service, give the integration a name, and enter your API Key in the Credentials field.

SkyDeck AI validates your API key in the background, and once it's accepted, xAI's Grok models become available for your members to select in GenStudio.
